What do Kinfolk Consulting do?
We are your Healthy Ageing Consultants, because You Matter to us.
We are dedicated to everyone enjoying a positive ageing experience. We provide Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation sessions and programs to help older adults, stressed family carers, nursing staff, or anyone really, to learn the skills needed to live and age well.
We provide talks on healthy ageing and dementia prevention and we offer this service to community groups, corporate entities, or retirement villages.
We also provide an independent consulting service to older Australians, and their families. We specialise in Advocacy, Care Advice, Private Case Management, Care Coordination, and Dementia Support. These services are available to any older person living in their own home or Independent Living Unit.
What does an Independent Aged Care Consultant do?
Our Independent Aged Care Consultants are skilled professionals who works with you to identify your needs, assist you to navigate the health/aged care system, link you in with the most suitable services to help you meet your needs, coordinate supports, monitor progress and conduct a review to ensure your needs are being met. We are not affiliated with anyone else, so you can be sure that our advice is 100% independent. Our concern is your wellbeing. We will always present you with various options so that you always have the final say.
What is Private Case Management?
A private Case Manager is a highly skilled community care consultant who is not employed by any Government, Not-for-Profit, or other provider organisation. In other words, they are independent professionals. Our Case Management consultants are engaged by, and paid for by you, your family or representative. Our Case Management consultants are here to ensure you receive the supports you need, and want, to remain living at home. At Kinfolk Consulting we will meet with you, discuss your needs, create a Care Plan, coordinate the services you require, monitor progress and conduct a review to ensure your needs are always being met.
Why do I need a Care Advisor or Case Manager?
A Care Advisor or Case Manager consultant is there for you and your family to ensure you receive the supports you need to remain living as independently as possible in your own home. Here at Kinfolk Consulting we are dedicated to promoting a healthy positive ageing experience. We have well established connections throughout the community care industry and can link you in with services that meet your individual needs.
What makes Kinfolk Consulting different?
We are focused on a positive ageing experience for all. We believe that a healthy body and mind is just as important as getting help to clean your home, or support with personal care. We work with service providers who can support your daily living needs. We also work with professionals who can make your home safer, keep your body strong and flexible, or show you how to prepare meals that will truly nourish you. We understand the importance of social connections and can work with you to develop a plan of action tailored just for you.
Do I need to be eligible for Government funding to receive Private Case Management?
Not at all. As we are private consultants you can use our services at any time. You do not need to navigate the aged care system, nor go on long waiting-lists while you await a funded program. We are here to help you as soon as you feel you need extra support to stay living at home.
Can I use your services if I am already involved with a Government funded program such as a Home Care Package?
Yes, absolutely. Many Government funded programs require case management involvement. You can still use our service privately and we will work with your care providers to ensure your care needs are met.
I live at home. Can I use your services?
Yes, you are our ideal customer. We are here to support you staying in your home.
I live in a retirement complex. Can I use your services?
Yes, you are also our ideal customer. Our goal is to keep you living independently.
Do you charge a fee?
Yes we do. We are not reliant on Government funding. All our services are a fee-for-service model. We are highly skilled, trained and educated community aged care professionals and know what we are talking about. By investing in us you know you will receive the most suitable options and solutions, not to mention peace of mind.
Do you offer short-term or on-going consultation?
We offer hourly, Short-term and long-term case management support, depending on your individual needs.
Are there are hidden costs?
Absolutely none. Our fees cover our time, travel costs to drive out to meet you, and time spent coordinating the services and/or professionals you require.
The only additional costs will be those that you pay to the organisations who provide the services you require (for example, a care worker to help you shower and dress, or someone to clean your home, or an occupational therapist to advise on home modifications).
What if I am a family member of an older person?
That is no problem. Many of our clients are family members who either do not have time to research options for their ageing relatives, or do not live locally. We are here to help.
